Some call it tiger maple, others call it curly maple, or flame maple, or fiddleback. One thing everyone can agree on is that it is one of the most beautiful, naturally occurring exotic woods found in America. Used most often for fine musical instruments, tiger maple's undulating pattern of wavy lines run perpendicular to the grain, producing a stunning piece of furniture that will become the focus of any room in your home.
Just what causes the distortion of the wood fibers to produce tiger maple is subject to debate. What's certain is that it is rare and much sought-after.
