Now, almost everything in the bedroom and dining room tents has been marked down to 70% OFF! Here are some snaps this morning. Most of what you see is still available as I type this. There are also super deals on dining chair sets: Armchairs $250., Sidechairs $200.

There are still some beautiful sofas and couches, at 50%. It would be well worth your while, if you can, to drive up here and grab these fantastic deals. Also plenty of fine Tibetan rugs remaining, all on sale at up to 75% OFF.

Great turnout so far

Business has been good. No doubt the (slightly, hardly any rain) better weather has something to do with it and also, as regular Tent Sailers know, we start dropping the prices on Sunday.

These two buffet with tops just catch my eye; beautiful, and now 60% OFF, and still available.

The Pompy historic, scenic train ride awaits passengers for its next run.

Plenty of shoppers.

So much great furniture available

Now that the tents are open, I can show more details of what's available. Or should I say, what's still available. Fortunately, quite a lot. We had a decent turnout considering the weather, but with almost a million dollars worth of furniture under the tents, there's plenty left if you're considering driving up later today or, of course, tomorrow. Much of what you see in the following four photos was still up for grabs when I took them at about 1:30 today. And more than that. A whole lot more. We've also got a terrific selection of dining chairs, upholstered, in sets, that we're selling for up to 75% OFF.

Some of these are taken but many sets still remain:

The lines start forming. . .

A happy couple that spent the night and had super low line numbers. They let me snap this picture of them after they purchased a matching pair of night tables just after the tents opened.

Another pair that got to the tent sale extra-early. This was their first Tent Sale, I believe they said. They purchased a dresser. I wish I'd held the camera a bit steadier.

Great deals in the Home Accents tent, but she came with the baby.

Outside rug tent doing a brisk business. And it's not even 8am in the morning.

Joe's Bistro has a steady cliental. When you can smell the eggs and sausage cooking, it's hard to resist. Especially since it's a complimentary meal.

By 6:30 we'd already passed out 100 line numbers! And those 'big sale tents' don't open until 10am. In the meantime, the Home Accent tents open at 7am and here was the line waiting to get in:

Joe's Bistro was going full force at this early time, too. Coffee, egg omelet wraps, french toast, all free to our customers.

A few more. . . .

Think about this: If the weather isn't perfect, the big savings up to 50% (and sometimes more) on our handcrafted, solid hardwood furniture certainly is. You could save hundreds or thousands of dollars and have beautiful furniture that lasts a lifetime(s). Don't forget that you'll also find incredible discounts on Home Accents.

More Sneak Previews

Those who are lucky enough to make it to this year's Pompanoosuc Mills Tent Sale will surely find something they want or need -- at huge savings. Stuff is still being brought into the tents and set up. I took these photos a few minutes ago:

Sorry, you can't call and ask for specific details. I provide these photos just to whet your wistle as to all the great furniture you'll find under the tents this year.

It's Not Just Furniture!

Home Accents -- and lots of them.

There are two large tents filled with rugs, lighting, pottery, bedding, and so much more. Here are a couple pictures I just took as stuff is getting set up.

Tents Getting Filled

There are literally TONS of furniture being put under the tents.

In fairness to the folks who will be driving up here and waiting in lines, I can't show you specific items or close-ups with dimensions. But, here are a couple early snaps. There will be a lot more and it will be spread out so that the "tent salers" can quickly reach what they're looking for.

Tent Sale: Delivery Options

We will be happy to help you get your furniture to your vehicle. We ask, however, that you supply the ropes, blankets and such to secure the pieces during transit. We cannot be responsible for any damage to a piece after it has left the tents.

If you plan to come back to get your items, we ask that you do so by Thursday May 30th, 2013.

We do it for you:

We'll be happy to do the lugging for you, and if you're having your tent sale items delivered locally, there's a good chance we can do it this weekend. To schedule a delivery, visit the delivery set-up tent, which you can find next to the cashiers.

What it costs if we do it for you:

Delivery charges are based on the full retail value of your furniture. For details, speak directly to our delivery staff or see the delivery chart here.

The Tents are Going Up!

We're now just days away from the big Pompy Tent Sale. Last evening the tents started going up.

Starting tomorrow, as the tents start filling with furniture, I'll be snapping pictures and posting them here to give you a sneak preview. Shhh! Don't let my boss know.

Boston Artist Ellen Llewellyn Exhibition

During the tent sale, we will be featuring the artwork of Ellen Llewellyn in our East Thetford showroom. Naturally, her paintings will be for sale and we hope to give this talented new artist more exposure.

From her biography: Boston artist Ellen Llewellyn earned dual degrees in painting from Wheaton College, Norton MA and The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston MA.

In 2011 she was included in the First Street Gallery's National Juried Competition judged by Paul Resika and a show at the Atlantic Works Gallery, East Boston, MA.

In 2012 her work was shown at the Main Gallery of the Pacific Art League for their Painting Only show judged by Eric Zener in Palo Alto, and the at the Austin Art Connection's Goldilocks Show. She has also been accepted into three consecutive issues of Studio Visit Magazine. The next issue will be published this summer.

A word about Friday night camping . . .

Each year, a few extra-ambitious folks -- determined to get the lowest possible line numbers -- arrive at the Tent Sale on Friday night. We don't mind, but while we have a grassy field next to the tents that you are welcome to use, be advised that there is no running water and only "Porta-Potties" for any sort of facilities. Just so you know. You might find it more comfortable arranging to stay in one of the many fine local inns and hotels in the area.

Clear Mountain Craft

We're excited to announce that artist and pottery maker Kristen Lemieux of Clear Mountain Craft will be joining us in the home accents tent. Besides offering many items of hers for sale, she'll be demonstrating the art of pottery making with both of her potter's wheels. You can find her Facebook page here. Some examples of her wonderful wares:

Free Eats!

It's a given that if you're joining us for the crazy fun on Saturday, May 25th, you want to arrive at the Tent Sale early in the morning. So early, you might not have had time to get your own breakfast. Fear not -- we start passing out line numbers at 6am and at 7am the kitchen is open for business. Later in the day, we serve lunch as well. Did I mention that it's free? Our gift to you for joining our little bash!

Getting Here & Where to Stay

Many visitors to our annual Tent Sale make a weekend of it. After all, who wouldn't like to spend a three-day Spring holiday weekend in Vermont? We've expanded our page of Directions and Lodgings to make it easy for you to find us and contact some of the better inns and hotels in the immediate area. Don't forget that on Saturday, we'll be offering free breakfast and lunch. More on that in a future post here.

Train Rides!

We will be offering free train rides on the restored, vintage White River Flyer Saturday and Sunday. The train takes you on a beautiful tour of the Connecticut River Valley including the river itself. It's the perfect opportunity to relax for an hour and watch the scenery drift by. Kids love it. Here are some photos from past years.

The Quiet Before the Storm

One month from today, this empty field will be the site of the greatest furniture sale in Northern New England! While I was taking this picture, Nick (from the showroom) found one of Tim's golf balls. One Titleist returned.
