THE ANTHROPOLOGY OF DESIGN: The Interplay of Exotic Furniture and Tibetan Carpets
Thursday, March 31, 6-8pm
Join us for a reception celebrating the spring launch of our American Exotics furniture collection. Dwight Sargent, Pompanoosuc Mills founder and lead designer, will be on hand to discuss how we are integrating rare and stunning American Exotic woods into our beautiful handcrafted Vermont furniture. This exceptional line of furniture is made with specialty woods from sustainable sources here in North America, such as unusual species of maple, bastogne walnut and reclaimed redwood. As with all our furniture, each piece is signed by the maker.
Also presenting will be Kesang Tashi, CEO and founder of InnerAsia Rugs and chief designer of his company. Tashi is a pioneer of carpets produced in his Tibetan homeland. He will speak on the Anthropology of Design and share his enthusiasm as to how cross-cultural fertilization continues to energize and help us embrace universal symbolism and fresh color, which stimulate and enrich our lives like never before.
There is no better testimony than seeing the brilliant interplay of Pompanoosuc Mills's Vermont handcrafted furniture and InnerAsia's Tibetan carpets to demonstrate the vision of the partnership between the two companies. A guided tour of the Pompy showroom by Dwight and Tashi is an event not to be missed.
